The back wrap is placed in a home freezer for about 2 hours to freeze the sewn in gels. The frozen wrap is then applied and tightened to achieve compression and drive the cold deep into the soft tissues surrounding the spine and spinal muscles. The wrap will drive cold for 15-20 minutes and lower the internal tissue temperature by 10 degrees or more. Immediate relief of pain is obtained and lasts for several hours.
