How does the McDavid 427 work?
Thick 4mm neoprene provides support and heat retention. Solid metal stays at the sides give a high level of lateral support to the knee joint protecting medial and lateral ligaments. In addition elastic straps cross over top and bottom of the support to give even more support.
The hinge system has pin stops which can control and limit the amount movement or flexion the kn ee support will allow. It will prevent hyperextension (bending back the wrong way) as well as restricting movement at 0, 15, 30 and 45 degrees.
What injuries is this support suitable for?
The McDavid 427 is good for moderate or more severe knee joint injuries where instability or ligament damage has occured. for example joint sprains, cartilage injury, posterior and anterior ligament injuries. It combines the benefits of a hinged knee support with the elastic straps of a stabilized knee support.
